Rescue Sled
The Rescue Sled is designed to be used as a trailer boat with the ability to be carried short distances by 4 persons. The large diameter pontoons give the boat good bouancy and stiffness, while the six inch thick inflatable floor adds more bouancy and provides the self bailing feature. The transom is one inch thick laminated plywood covered with boat fabric and clad fore and aft with aluminum. A plywood thrust board is sealed with boat fabric into the inflatable floor and attached to the transom with aluminum legs to transmit power throughout the boat. The Rescue Sled performs well with jet or prop drives. Logos and colors may be vulcanized into the boat during the curing process to provide long lasting identification. Custom features may be added as required for each departments operations.
Rapid Response Boat
The Rapid Response is a lightweight, portable, inflatable pontoon boat that is used by rescue squads, fire departments, and police as an emergency carry-in craft for situations where access to water is physically limited. Constructed from rugged vulcanized neoprene coated fabric, the Rapid Response stores in a compact (28″ by 18″ by 14″) carrying case. Using the nylon lifting handles, this 90 lb boat can be easily carried to the water’s edge and inflated within a few minutes using a single bottle of compressed air (80 cu. ft) such as a Scott Pack or SCUBA bottle. Built-in pressure relief valves guard against over-inflation.
The Rapid Response can be paddled like a canoe (by crew of 1 to 4) or it can be propelled by a 1O hp outboard motor mounted on a strap-in transom. The elevated rubber floor has 4 built-in foot stirrups to provide more secure seating for passengers and crew. The Rapid Response is self bailing to help rescuers concentrate on their primary mission.
Demaree Inflatable Boats manufactures the Rapid Response in a variety of lengths and widths as well as offering custom configurations and construction materials. We can vulcanize your company’s name, logo, or fleet number on the side of the boat for permanent identification.
The Chesapeake Model
The Chesapeake is a rugged inflatable workboat used for both general transport and swift water rescue. It is currently being used by government search & rescue units, fire departments, and emergency rescue squads. The boat’s twin external keels and flat planing surface make it well suited for outboard water jets.
With a total of 9 separate air chambers, the Chesapeake provides an added level of safety for missions in remote areas and swift water environments. The main tube has six air chambers, the inflatable floor has two, and the twin external keels provide the remaining air chambers. The inflatable self-bailing floor is constructed of 6″ (150 mm) dropstitch fabric. The bottom, keels, and tubes are reinforced with heavy fabric and abrasion resistant rubber sheeting. The exterior of the main tube is protected by a six inch (152 mm) strake.
The Chesapeake features a spacious internal deck constructed of marine alloy aluminum. The deck bolts through the transom and laces to the inflatable floor at the bow, providing a very stiff and durable working surface. The transom consists of 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) marine plywood and fiberglass reinforced by aluminum plates on both the interior and exterior sides. A number of stainless steel D rings are used for lifting points and safety line attachments. The valves are recessed into the tubes.
